HONOLULU (AP) — Police have arrested a 30-year-old Honolulu man suspected of being a serial rapist.

Another media outlet reported Saturday police have an unidentified suspect in custody for a Dec. 1 sexual assault in the Makaloa area.

Authorities arrested him late Friday in the Kalihi-Palama area.

They said a DNA sample ties him to the attack.

According to police, a man forced his way into the victim’s apartment.

Honolulu police said the Dec. 1 incident is connected to two other attacks that occurred earlier this year. In May, a man allegedly unlawfully entered a woman’s apartment and then hit her and raped her. Police think the same man broke into an apartment June 13 and sexually assaulted a woman there.

The suspect has not yet been charged.
